Building funnels is scary.

It seemed a complicated task, and I always feared screwing it up.

1. Unaware audience

This audience doesn’t even understand your market or ever heard of it.

We’ll take an example of ghostwriting.

If I want to sell a product/consultation to new ghostwriters, I must teach them the beautiful consequences of joining the ghostwriting world.

How to target this audience:

• Free resources to learn the skill

• Success stories

• Secrets

This would be very basic-level content that anyone in the niche would read.

You also raise your chances of going mega-viral.

Method to target this audience:

• Tweets and Threads

2. Problem aware

This audience already knows the problem.

Unlike the unaware audience, you don’t have to teach them the benefits of joining your industry.

They might have had some sort of success within your niche but are lost now.

They are struggling and looking for solutions.

How to target this audience:

• Point out their anxieties and fears

• Write how-to threads to overcome problems

• Show you understand their problem better than everyone

Method to target this audience:

• Threads

3. Solution aware

This audience is a kind of experienced.

Actively looking for a solution in the market. Researching. Differentiating.

But they don’t know about your solution and whether it’s a good fit.

How to target this audience:

• Testimonials - Give reasons to show it is better than other products.

• Case studies - Show other people have solved their problems through your solution.

Method to target this audience:

• Newsletter or free products.

4. Product Aware and Most Aware

This audience is exhausted.

They have been exposed to irritating amounts of product and sales pages.

Your product could be one of them.

They only buy on trust or a great offer.

How to target this audience:

• Free trial - Show them a peek at what your product will do.

• A guarantee - If it’s not a good fit, tell them you’ll return their money.

Methods to target this audience:

Sales page and landing page.

One golden rule:

The more niche content, the better it will perform on the lower side of your funnel.

The more broader content, the better it will perform on the upper side of your funnel.
